Waiting Room Birthday!

Brisbane's finest venue THE WAITING ROOM is turning 1, and we're playing its birthday celebrations this Friday night (Oct 26) along with THE RATIONAL ACADEMY and TINY SPIDERS!

We'll be playing first so John "Hardest Working Man in Showbiz" Mercer can make it across town to Fat Louie's where his other musical endeavour DICK NASTY will be launching their 4th album the very same night!

Blackie from the Hard-Ons is in hospital after being assaulted by two absolute stains on humanity recently. Fortunately he seems to be on the mend, but will be unable to work or play shows for some time. 

We'll be playing 2 shows with the Hard-Ons to raise some much-needed funds for him: Friday June 1 at the Annandale in Sydney, and Saturday June 2 at the Great Northern in Newcastle. The shows will feature former Hard-Ons drummer Keish filling in for Blackie on guitar, and other former Hard-Ons drummer Pete Kostic may be making an appearance as well. Chinese Burns Unit also play in Sydney, and Dead Boss (Pete's new band) play both shows.

You can also donate to Blackie here, and Tym Guitars is holding an auction to win any two Tym pedals of your choice, with all the proceeds going to Blackie.

Please pitch in if you can, and help an Australian music treasure and all-round nice guy.

MO SHOWZ

Hey pals. Last minute show announcement! We'll be playing at X+Y in the Valley on Friday Feb 24 with THE ANCHORS and TREVOR LUDLOW. It's free entry! We're on at 9. Trevor's on at 8, so get there early. No dawdling!

PLUS, we had so much fun in Newcastle during our triumphant NSW tour last weekend that we've decided to head straight back down there. We'll be playing at the Pharmacy on Saturday March 3 with the excellent BOMB THE MUSIC INDUSTRY from the USA (go and get a copy of their album Vacation if you haven't already - it's phenomenal) plus a whole bunch of other bands. Stay tuned for lineup details.

Here's an eye-catching photo of us playing in 3-piece mode on the last night of our recent Waiting Room residency, while our evil overlord Simon was on a fact-finding mission in the Rhineland. We did a full set of covers of other Brisbane bands. With any luck we'll have some recordings of the occasion to post here soon.
